Description of problem:

the F8 kernel breaks the very useful "slabtop" utility (from the F8 procps
package)... by not having /proc/slabinfo anymore

Steps to Reproduce:
1. install procps
2. run "slabtop"
3. weep

Did you try compiling Documentation/vm/slabinfo.c ?

that program should probably be added to procps.

Fix in CVS, /proc/slabinfo is back.

kernel-2.6.23.13-105.fc8 has been pushed to the Fedora 8 testing repository.  If problems still persist, please make note of it in this bug report.
 If you want to test the update, you can install it with 
 su -c 'yum --enablerepo=updates-testing update kernel'
