The "control-center" component is the GNOME control-center. Reassigning to
kdebase, as I have no idea which package in KDE ships it.

kdebase is the correct component for kcontrol.

Is this udev or hal not giving out the proper permissions to the device or is 
this kcontrol not being ACL-aware and thus thinking it has no permissions when 
it actually has them?

Currently, the Logitech CC needs console user perms that are unfortunately 
only implemented using (now obsolete) usb-hotplug. Consider filing a bugreport 
upstream (bugs.kde.org) and tell the author to add support for udev.

Can't we write the udev script ourselves? It shouldn't be too hard using the 
upstream-provided hotplug script as a reference. Other packages where upstream 
isn't providing the correct setup are doing exactly that.

This message is a reminder that Fedora 8 is nearing its end of life.
Approximately 30 (thirty) days from now Fedora will stop maintaining
and issuing updates for Fedora 8.  It is Fedora's policy to close all
bug reports from releases that are no longer maintained.  At that time
this bug will be closed as WONTFIX if it remains open with a Fedora 
'version' of '8'.

Package Maintainer: If you wish for this bug to remain open because you
plan to fix it in a currently maintained version, simply change the 'version' 
to a later Fedora version prior to Fedora 8's end of life.

Although we aim to fix as many bugs as possible during every release's 
lifetime, sometimes those efforts are overtaken by events.  Often a 
more recent Fedora release includes newer upstream software that fixes 
bugs or makes them obsolete.

This is still disabled in F9 and F10 (we aren't building kdebase-workspace against libusb at all to avoid the non-working KCM - by the way, I see Lorenzo Villani enabled this in Rawhide, that's a bad idea, we deliberately kept it disabled!), still due to missing udev scripts.
