Description Jan Safranek 2007-11-28 13:20:53 UTC
Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
openldap-servers-2.2.13-8.el4_6.1

How reproducible:
sometimes

Steps to Reproduce:
modify one attribute of one entry with multiple clients

Actual results:
slapd crashes

Expected results:
slapd lives

Additional info:
already fixed upstream:
http://www.openldap.org/its/index.cgi/Software%20Bugs?id=3188

Check closely memory consumption, it's rumored (its#3213) that there is also
memory leak when two clients modify one attribute at the same time.

reproducer

Usage:
- install opendlap-servers
- delete any previous ldap databases (rm -rf /var/lib/ldap/*)
- use the default slapd.conf, only uncomment line "rootpw secret"
- start ldap server
- start the script - it will spawn 20 processes, modifying one attribute in
endless loop

After some time slapd hopefully dies. You can stop the clients by "kill
`/tmp/test.pid`".

patch

Comment 3 Jan Safranek 2007-11-28 14:02:25 UTC
I did not notice any problem with the memory consumption, it seems to me there
is no leak.
