Screen contents when install stops
Changing component to the kernel. Can you try adding "ide=nodma" at the syslinux prompt,eg syslinux: linux ide=nodma (don't type "syslinux:" yourself!) Just tried that. No change. Results unchanged. Ok next try: mem=48M Maybe the bios is lying slightly to linux about how much memory the machine has. That shouldn't be the problem. In addition to the memory on the SIMMs, there is an additional 4M cache on the motherboard. I've already tried switching the jumpers on the motherboard to disable the memory. The BIOS will fail to recognize the additional memory (and go to 48M total memory). Same error. Could you still try it? I set the value intentionally to be a bit smaller than the actual memory.. Ok. Just tried it and got to the install. Now it's complaining about lack of disk space for the packages I selected. That's a problem I can fix. Thanks! That's a problem _I_ can't fix ;) |
