Steps to Reproduce:
- install F-8 on a laptop with a synaptics touchpad
- yum install gsynaptics (or add/remove sw for point and click users)
- Preferences->Hardware->touchpad

Actual results:
An error that SHMConfig must be set to yes

Expected results:
A configuration dialog for my touchpad

Additional info:
Adding this single line:
Option      "SHMConfig" "yes"

To the Synpatics InputDegvice section fixes this, I believe that
system-config-display should do this by default.

We don't set this because the way it's implemented, *anyone* on the box can then
change the configuration at any point.

There was some work underway to rework synaptics to have a sane way of doing
configuration that could be limited to the user actually using the X session,
but I haven't heard any more about it in a while unfortunately :(
