This message is a reminder that Fedora 8 is nearing its end of life. Approximately 30 (thirty) days from now Fedora will stop maintaining and issuing updates for Fedora 8. It is Fedora's policy to close all bug reports from releases that are no longer maintained. At that time this bug will be closed as WONTFIX if it remains open with a Fedora 'version' of '8'. Description of problem: New kernels besides the old unlink(2) support also the call unlinkat(2). It cannot be easily traced by SystemTap. It is used by recent `rm'. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): systemtap-{,runtime-}0.5.14-1.fc8.x86_64 (Checked systemtap-{,runtime-}0.6-1.fc9.x86_64 also do not contain the `unlinkat' string.) How reproducible: Always. Steps to Reproduce: 1. cat >unlinkat.stp probe syscall.unlinkat {} stap unlinkat.stp OR 1. cat >unlinkat.stp you-know-what Actual results: semantic error: probe point mismatch at position 1 ... while resolving probe point syscall.unlinkat OR semantic error: no match for probe point while resolving probe point kernel.function("unlinkat") Expected results: Traceable `rm'. Additional info: $ touch /tmp/x;strace rm /tmp/x ... unlinkat(AT_FDCWD, "/tmp/x", 0) = 0 ...
