From authors website.. "The latest development release is: * efax-0.9a-001114.tar.gz This version works better than the stable version for most people. If you are using a LinModem, you must use this version." You should upgrade this package from 0.9 to 0.9a-001114. I couldn't get it to work right until I upgraded. Other distros like Debian, Ubuntu, etc. have upgraded to 0.9A.
