Description of problem: networkmanager does not seem to respond immediately and
false exit report


Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):nm-applet 0.7.0

on fedora 8, x86_64

How reproducible: On my laptop Acer Aspire 9920G with wireless connection driver 
iwl4965 installed. Networkmanager active

Steps to Reproduce: start fedora 8. login. Networkmanager applet appears at
upper right position of desktop.
1. Activate the  wireless connection wlan0 vie the gui :
System>administration>network.

A dialog appears that it cannot activate wlan0. Contact bugzilla. Do nothing for
about 22 seconds. Then the icon of the nm-applet changes to a spinning circle .
After 2 seconds a message appears that a connection has been established with
the wireless network (here) "Wifi_A6". Now wlan0 is activated despite the
earlier message.

Actual results: I would expect no dialog that pops up to inform that the
activation of wlan0 failed and that the icon of nm_applet would immediately
starts spinning.

NetworkManager is mutually exclusive with the use of system-config-network; you
either use one or the other... So it's expected that any operation performed in
system-config-network will _not_ be reflected in the NetworkManager icon. 
Please use the NM icon to connect to networks.
