Adding such a dependency would mean that all systems would need to install kmod-ipw3945, which seems like a lot of additional effort for small benefit. What is the failure shown to the user if the kernel module is missing? Does the interface fail to come up? Please check the comments on "2008-01-15" in https://hardware.redhat.com/show.cgi?id=428137 I think we should notify users somewhere(either in the docs or in HTS) that extra packages must be installed manually in order to test ipw3945 wireless module. Changed summary. re-assigning - documentation needed. |
