Description Julian Sikorski 2008-01-29 12:41:14 UTC
Description of problem:
firefox stopped detecting the installed plugins. The funny thing is that if it
is run with --debug switch, everything works as expected.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
nspluginwrapper-0.9.91.5-17.fc8.i386
nspluginwrapper-0.9.91.5-17.fc8.x86_64
xulrunner-1.9-0.beta2.14.nightly20080121.fc9.x86_64
firefox-3.0-0.beta2.12.nightly20080121.fc9.x86_64

How reproducible:
always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. update firefox to rawhide
2. run it

Actual results:
no plugins are detected

Expected results:
plugins are detected

Additional info:
I thought that's due to the fact I am running f8's nspluginwrapper with
rawhide's firefox, but updating to rawhide version did not change anything. I am
reporting this bug against xulrunner since it is the only related software I
updated since everything was working fine.

Comment 1 Martin Stransky 2008-01-29 17:41:15 UTC
works fine for me...

Comment 2 Julian Sikorski 2008-01-29 21:13:51 UTC
Now I'm puzzled... I downgraded nss and xulrunner to the versions that were
working OK for sure, and nothing has changed. I even tried erasing
nspluginwrapper without success. Do you have *any* ideas why plugins would
vanish from normal mode?

Comment 3 Julian Sikorski 2008-01-29 22:01:18 UTC
OK, more weirdness:
htmlview: no plugins
firefox: everything OK
What is going on?

Comment 4 Julian Sikorski 2008-01-29 22:13:03 UTC
OK, I got it. For some reason, Firefox asked to be the default browser, and put
some strange command into preferred browser path. Sorry for the noise.

Comment 5 Martin Stransky 2008-01-30 09:47:07 UTC
okay, closing.

Comment 6 Christopher Aillon 2008-01-30 22:08:19 UTC
Wait.... Firefox asked to be the default browser? That's very bad. We should
fix that if you were using our RPMs. If that's the case, please file a new bug.

Comment 7 Julian Sikorski 2008-01-30 22:49:36 UTC
Done. Bug #430988.
