Description Kevin Kofler 2008-02-02 20:24:47 UTC
Description of problem:
kicker-compiz serves no useful purpose under a KDE 4 session and should
therefore be retired for Fedora 9 and later according to the procedure under:
http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/PackageMaintainers/PackageEndOfLife
It also has broken dependencies due to the kicker libraries no longer being
available in Rawhide.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
Any, under Fedora >= 9.

Additional info:
        kicker-compiz-3.5.4-4.fc8.i386 requires libkickermain.so.1
        kicker-compiz-3.5.4-4.fc8.i386 requires libtaskmanager.so.1

Comment 1 Xavier Lamien 2008-02-02 21:53:30 UTC
I already plan to push kicker-compiz to EOF (currently no maintain it in rawhide).
until F-7 will be set to EOF as well.

Comment 2 Kevin Kofler 2008-02-02 21:58:53 UTC
You can (and should!) mark it dead.package in the devel branch and ask rel-eng
to block it from Rawhide right now (
http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/PackageMaintainers/PackageEndOfLife steps 1, 2, 3
and 5). (When to put the package into RetiredPackages (step 4) is unclear to
me.) That way, it will stop showing up in the broken dependency reports and it
will also automatically go EOL once F8 (not F7) goes EOL.

Comment 3 Rex Dieter 2008-02-08 16:10:56 UTC
pkg blocked. I think we can close this now.
