Changing version to '9' as part of upcoming Fedora 9 GA. More information and reason for this action is here: http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/BugZappers/HouseKeeping I have the same problem with a Tyan K8E. The issue notably affects the "boot.iso" install image of F10 and of current "rawhide" as of 2009-02-01. I have also tried several Ubuntu releases, and none of them has this problem. The issue is by no means restricted to x86_64 systems (which is my standard flavour, too). Booting from the Fedora 9 i686 live CD on my Tyan S2865 equally fails when choosing "Boot from local drive". Current "rawhide" still does not allow to boot from a local drive after booting from "boot.iso" for my Tyan K8E. Instead, the system halts displaying "PRESS A KEY TO REBOOT". Live CDs using GRUB like OpenSolaris 2009.06 or Ubuntu 9.04 do not have this problem. This tends to be BIOS dependent more than anything. The same issue still present in Fedora 12 Alpha. indeed. i beieve it doesn't even try to start from hard disk .... Does not work on Fedora 12 i386 DVD.
