Description of problem:
drag cjk text in firefox, drop cjk text into openoffice => cjk text is broken in
openoffice.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
2.4.0-6.2.fc9.i386

always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. open yahoo.co.jp on firefox.
2. drag some text in firefox.
3. drop the text into openoffice.org

Do you mean that you're getting the source html as a result ? That's what I get,
and I get this too for non-CJK text, e.g. even if I select the above comment and
drag it into writer I get the <pre> tag and so on

yes, and cjk text is broken between tag and tag.

So checking firefox-2.0.0.12-1.fc8 vs
firefox-3.0-0.beta2.18.nightly20080210.fc9.i386 with the same OOo and I see that
it works with the old firefox and not the new.

In either case cut and paste works, it is just in the case of drag and drop that
the difference appears. Looking at the data transferred I can see that for drag
and drop the text *used* to be prefixed with the UCS BOMS for little endian
16byte unicode in the drag and drop case, but no longer does while it continues
to prefix with the BOM for cut and paste.

We found that this bug has been already registered in the upstream database
(https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=205491) and believe that it is
more appropriate to let it be resolved upstream.

Red Hat will continue to track the issue in the centralized upstream bug
tracker, and will review any bug fixes that become available for consideration
in future updates.
