Description of problem:
In addition to the odd flickering noted in
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=438734 a couple of times a day the
whole screen goes dark, with the result that I have to switch to the console,
log in blind and reboot the laptop (which is a Vaio SZ3XWP).
