Description Phil Long 2008-04-07 11:08:44 UTC
Description of problem:

AVC denial; SELinux denied access requested by 05-netfs. eth0 won't go up

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):

Fedora 9 beta + "automatic" updates

How reproducible:

Install F9 beta onto VMware virtual machine. Run updates (500 or so). Reboot.
Network will no longer connect. Click on the sherrif-star to get information on
SELinux and 05-netfs

Steps to Reproduce:
1. See above
2.
3.

Actual results:

No net access

Expected results:

SELinux allows 05-netfs to bring up the network

Additional info:

Suggested fix (by the sherrif-star thingy) of

restorecon -v '/var/lock/subsys/netfs does not work

changing /etc/selinux/config

to permissive instead of enforcing unsurprisingly works
