Xorg log which has the errors.
http://www.smolts.org/show?uuid=pub_11cbc424-765d-4516-a2a9-230f4a312a6e Might help but if not. Also another point is that I'm using vesa to startx and it's limited to ati only. I haven't tried any other drivers. Can you also attach your xorg.conf? Not that I expect there's anything interesting there, but just in the interest of making sure all the relevant info is here Created attachment 304278 [details]
xorg.conf
Take into account it's been modified to work with Vesa. The only settings is
the EXA setting and the driver setting everything else is commented out.
have you got bits of fglrx installed or something? -ati driver can't find a kernel drm or the kernel drm that is loaded isn't its one.. Removing the fglrx driver and rebooting it works. Can you explain why before I could have the fglrx installed but not enabled and the ati driver would still work. Is there a way to have the fglrx driver installed but not enabled and have the ati driver functioning? you had the fglrx kernel module loaded in your kernel, I would say this is the same as having enabled fglrx. I've no idea where fglrx packages come from, or if you just dl from ATI, but Red Hat/Fedora cannot fix these. Please contact the package maintainers or ATI. |
