Description Josh 2008-05-14 03:57:59 UTC
From Bugzilla Helper:
User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.0; en-GB; rv:1.8.1.14) Gecko/20080404 Firefox/2.0.0.14

Description of problem:
When trying to install Fedora 8 (i386 version) on my computer, I get passed the screen where it asks me to select whether I would like to do a graphical or text only install, the screen scrolls with lots of text, gets to a line which says 'Starting /sbin/loader', or something along those lines, and then it just sits there. The computer isn't frozen (I am able to type), but Anaconda does not load. I have tried both graphical and text-only install, and Kubuntu works on this laptop. The disc is fine (checked on another computer).

How reproducible:
Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Insert Fedora 8 Installation DVD
2. Select either of the installation options
3. Wait

Actual Results:

Additional info:
The computer is an Asus G2S - T7500 2.2Ghz Core 2 Duo Centrino processor, nVidia 8600m GT graphics card, 2Gb Ram, and a 300GB Fujitsu MXH2300BT HDD. (Full specs at http://www.asus.com/products.aspx?modelmenu=2&model=1675&l1=5&l2=74&l3=463&l4=0)

Is this better in F9?

I also had this on my Acer Aspire 5630, fixed with this:

This should be fixed for F9.
