Description Guy Cohen 2008-05-26 10:01:32 UTC
Description of problem:

Since upgrading to Fedora 9, addresses from my Evolution contacts have stopped
showing up.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Activate nautilus-sendto.
2. Start typing in a name or address in Evolution's contacts.

Actual results:
No response.

Expected results:
Autocompletion of the address, as in previous versions.

Also, I have been unable to find how (whether?) nautilus-sendto can be configured.

Any errors on the command-line? You can run nautilus-sendto with:
nautilus-sendto /path/to/file

There's no configuration for nautilus-sendto I'm afraid, what option were you
thinking of?

None. Any other thoughts on how I could get more info to you?

Well, for instance: Evolution has support for several address books. I might
want to configure only some of them to be accessible from nautilus-sendto. In
this case, I was simply surprised not to find any sort of configuration file.

Could you please test the contact-look-applet? It uses the same code as
nautilus-sendto, and should report errors better.

We used to check whether the addressbook was set to auto-complete in Evolution
before, but that didn't work out well, so now all the addressbooks will be
autocompleted.

Unfortunately (?), contact-lookup-applet works perfectly.

I suppose that makes perfect sense for 99.9% of users, and anyone else could
hack into it pretty easily. Not complaining, was just wondering.

Could you tell us the exact reproducer steps for your problem then, and the
details of the contact you're trying to complete to?

It would be most useful if you could try and reproduce the problem with a new
user as well, as it would make reproducing easier.

OK, opening a new user and setting up an evolution account seems to have
automagically resolved the issue for my old user as well... I can no longer
reproduce the abnormal behavior. Must be something in the upgrade process from
F8 to F9.

Anyway, thanks for your help...

Closing this then, thanks!
