Description Ulrik Mikaelsson 2008-06-19 07:38:45 UTC
Description of problem:
Mod_wsgi in Fedora EPEL is built with static python. This has two problems.
A) Consumes extra memory
B) Is incompatible with other python-related modules in apache, such as mod_python.

How reproducible:
Always.

Steps to Reproduce:
Known issue, read the link

Additional info:
Known issue. Read about it at
http://code.google.com/p/modwsgi/wiki/InstallationIssues. Sections "Lack Of
Python Shared Library" and "Using ModPython and ModWsgi" are particularly
interesting.

I've tested the proposed solutions against mod_wsgi 2.0, and that seems to work.

This is fixed in 1.3-3.el5, currently in testing.
