stderr output from network play none

Description Trevin Beattie 2008-06-22 22:06:53 UTC
Description of problem:
I am unable to play any game of 8Kingdoms. If I try to start a local game, a
dialog box appears with the error:

Fatal Error: out of stack space (infinite loop?)

If I try to start a networked game, the application simply terminates without
warning. By running 8Kingdoms from a console window I can see the following
output on stderr after starting a network game:

*** buffer overflow detected ***: 8Kingdoms terminated

This is followed by a backtrace and memory map which I will attach separately.
(When attempting to start a local game from the console, stderr simply shows
"Fatal error in thread".)

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):

Comment 2 Hans de Goede 2008-07-29 19:49:04 UTC
Sorry for letting this bug linger so long. 8Kingdoms is no longer under active
development I'm afraid, so there is no upstream to ask to look into this,
and at the moment I currently do not have the time for this I'm afraid.

So I'm going to close this as a dup of another 8KingDoms bug with random
crashes, so that there is one place where all issues are tracked if someone ever
wants to look into fixing this in the future.

I say in the future as I'll be orphaning 8KingDoms as, as said, I don't have the
time to go and hunt down all the bugs is has, and it seems to be a dead end with
regards to future developments.
