Description Jiri Moskovcak 2008-07-01 12:32:47 UTC
Spec URL: http://people.fedoraproject.org/~jmoskovc/dkms-vhba.spec
SRPM URL: http://people.fedoraproject.org/~jmoskovc/dkms-vhba-1.0.0-3.fc10.src.rpm

Description:

VHBA kernel module, a virtual SCSI host bus adapter used by CDEmu daemon from userspace-cdemu suite.

rpmlint:

dkms-vhba.noarch: W: no-documentation
dkms-vhba.noarch: W: devel-file-in-non-devel-package /usr/src/vhba-1.0.0-3.fc10/vhba.c

Upstream doesn't provide any documentation. The package has to contain source files because it's dkms module that automatically rebuilds when new kernel is booted.

Comment 1 Paul Howarth 2008-07-01 12:47:12 UTC
Fedora policy is that kernel modules must be included in the main kernel package
(and preferably in the upstream kernel); separate kernel module packages,
whether binary or dkms-based, are no longer allowed.

Comment 2 Jason Tibbitts 2008-07-01 16:19:42 UTC
As this is unacceptable for Fedora, I am closing this ticket. Please either
work to get this into the upstream kernel, or (less prefereably) communicate
with the kernel maintainers to see if they are willing to carry the module in
the Fedora kernel packages.
