Description Gary Case 2008-07-30 01:02:11 UTC
Description of problem:
Deleting ~15 or more systems at one time often leaves partial profiles in
existence. These profiles can be easily identified by a broken HTML entitlement
display of (none)

They are a nuisance, as you can't manage them in groups. You have to open each
individual partial profile if you wish to delete it.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
RHN hosted 5.0.6

How reproducible:
Nearly every time

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Log in to RHN hosted.
2. Perform an advanced search on systems, searching for those more than 60 days
old (I'm cleaning out profiles from one of our internal test groups which
generates a LOT of reregistration traffic and can easily run out of entitlements).
3. Select the first page (20 systems) and click "Manage"
4. Select the Delete link.
5. Click the Delete Profiles button
6. When you perform the 60-day search again to find more systems, some of the
systems you just selected and supposedly deleted will reappear with
(none) listed as their entitlement.

I believe this is based on server load, as I've been successful with deleting as
many as 60 systems at one time in the past. Tonight I'm down to less than 15 at
a time.

Actual results:
Partial profiles left.

Expected results:
All selected profiles deleted.

Additional info:
I'm using 32-bit F9 on a Thinkpad T60p and Firefox 3.0.1 to do my management.

As you may already be aware, Red Hat is transitioning from the Red Hat Network (RHN) hosted interface to the Red Hat Subscription Management (RHSM) interface in July 2017. Red Hat has invested in and seen success from RHN for many years, and used that experience to build more robust technologies like RHSM.

If you have not yet migrated your RHN systems to RHSM or you are a Red Hat Satellite customer, please review the information from. https://access.redhat.com/products/red-hat-subscription-management#migration.

Since we are shutting down RHN, no further actions will be taken with this bug or enhancement request. You can find additional information at RHSM product page (https://access.redhat.com/products/red-hat-subscription-management). If you have further questions, please contact support (https://access.redhat.com/products/red-hat-subscription-management#support).
