Description Daniel Drake 2008-08-15 20:21:17 UTC
hal-0.5.11-2 in Fedora 9 polls OLPC's battery a lot. This has a negative impact on system performance, particularly touchpad and real-time audio.

Fedora 7's hal didn't do this.

I posted some patches upstream but haven't got any real response. Can we apply them in Fedora's package in the mean time? Or would you prefer that we fork an OLPC-3 branch?

No response, so requesting a cvs fork so that we can get this in our rapidly-approaching build

Please create OLPC-3 branches based off F9, cvsextras commit access.

Let me see if I can get David's attention before we have to branch this...
It would be nice not to have to.

Comment 6 Kevin Fenzi 2008-08-25 19:42:56 UTC
Talked with David and he suggested we ask Richard Hughes...
adding him to cc. ;)

Comment 7 Daniel Drake 2008-08-29 16:42:38 UTC
No response, can we go ahead with the fork anyway?

Comment 8 Kevin Fenzi 2008-08-30 20:44:43 UTC
Yeah, I suppose so. ;(

cvs done.

Comment 9 Daniel Drake 2008-09-02 16:27:35 UTC
Thanks Kevin, apologies for all these fork requests. I have built the packages now, but will leave this bug open in hope of review for F9/F10/upstream.

Comment 10 Jeremy Katz 2008-10-15 16:03:40 UTC
And this is now upstream

Comment 11 Peter Robinson 2008-10-15 20:07:43 UTC
Will this be pushed out to F-9?
