Description of problem:
When xine is lauching gedit frequently crashes X.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
xorg-x11-drv-i810-2.4.0-2.fc10
xine-0.99.5-1.lvn8.i386
xine-lib-1.1.12-3.fc10.i386
gedit-2.23.3-2.fc10.i386

How reproducible:
Almost 100%

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Start GNOME
2. execute $ xine --root --loop some_file.mp4
3. execute $ gedit some_file.spec
  
Actual results:
X window gets totally black, however still I can hear the sound correctly

Expected results:
No X crash

Additional info:
I don't see this issue with xorg-x11-drv-i810-2.3.2-2.fc9

Now this bug is 15% (?) reproducible with

What is the state of this bug ?

It has been moved onto F10DesktopBlocker a long time ago, but has not seen any action. Is it still relevant ?
