Description Matthew Barnes 2008-08-25 15:56:40 UTC
As of gnome-python2-2.22.1-3.fc10, the Python bindings for libgnome and libgnomeui have moved to a new subpackage named gnome-python2-gnome.

Consequently, this package _may_ need to change its gnome-python2 requirement to gnome-python2-gnome.

The reason for this change is because libgnome and libgnomeui pull in a large number of dependencies that some of the gnome-python2 subpackages -- such as gnome-python2-gnomevfs -- don't need, but subpackages must still require their parent package. Splitting the libgnome[ui] bindings into a subpackage allows the other subpackages to avoid pulling in lots of unnecessary libgnome[ui] dependencies. See bug #456122 for more details.

This package has changed ownership in the Fedora Package Database. Reassigning to the new owner of this component.

Comment 2 Jaromír Končický 2014-03-26 11:07:17 UTC
S-c-n currently requires gnome-python2-gnome but also requires gnome-python2.

* Fri Dec 12 2008 Jiri Moskovcak <jmoskovc> 1.5.95-1
- Added gnome-python2-gnome to Requirements (rhbz#472154)

So according to description gnome-python2 requirement can be simply removed.

Comment 3 Nils Philippsen 2016-08-11 11:21:39 UTC
Thanks for taking the time to submit this bug. Since Fedora 18, s-c-network doesn't include the GUI anymore. Because of that the bad dependency therefore isn't effective and that I don't actively develop system-config-network anymore, I'll close this bug now.
