Description Ian Mortimer 2008-08-26 22:22:36 UTC
Description of problem:
The openjdk plugin doesn't work when web access is through a squid proxy.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):

java-1.6.0-openjdk-plugin-1.6.0.0-0.16.b09.fc9
firefox-3.0.1-1.fc9
squid-2.5.STABLE14-4.el4

How reproducible:
Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. configure a squid proxy (ours is on el4)
2. access java test sites through the proxy
3. for example: http://www.upshot.com/login/javatest/logo/javavmtest.html

Actual results:
spinning triangle doesn't display and java version is not reported when going through the proxy - works fine without the proxy.

Expected results:
applets should work the same with or without the proxy.

Additional info:
Closed bug #460084 is a duplicate.

I'm experiencing this bug too

might be related to upstream gcjwebplugin not having proxy support. openjdk plugin is based off gcjwebplugin right?.
