Description of problem:

during last rawhide yum update, i've seen this:

...

the tmp file was no longer available when i got there.

There was a bug in the post uninstall script for device-mapper-multipath-0.4.8-5.fc10. It's fixed in device-mapper-multipath-0.4.8-6.fc10, so when it comes time to update to the next one, you should be fine.
