RHEL 6 will be branched from a mainline kernel, so there should be no syncing required.

The feature requested has already been accepted into the upstream code base
planned for the next major release of Red Hat Enterprise Linux.

When the next milestone release of Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6 is available,
please verify that the feature requested is present and functioning as
desired.

Comment 2 John Jarvis 2008-10-13 21:15:21 UTC
Am I correct in thinking that if we take this driver update it will also satisfy the feature requests in:

Bug 462959 - [LTC 6.0 FEAT] 201667:eHEA support for 16GB memory page
Bug 462954 - [LTC 6.0 FEAT] 201587:Enable eHEA with kdump support

Comment 3 IBM Bug Proxy 2009-03-05 17:50:34 UTC
It is true that this driver update will satisfy the following as well.
Bug 462959 - [LTC 6.0 FEAT] 201667:eHEA support for 16GB memory page
Bug 462954 - [LTC 6.0 FEAT] 201587:Enable eHEA with kdump support

In fact, as things moving right now, we confirm that all of the HEA driver features are in the kernel 2.6.29 already. There is no need for any codedrops if RHEL6 takes kernel 2.6.29 or later. Therefore, all of the HEA feature requests are cancelled, including this one.

Thanks.

Comment 4 John Jarvis 2009-03-05 17:55:45 UTC
The kernel level will be 2.6.30 at a minimum so we should be in good shape for these.

Comment 5 Kevin W Monroe 2009-09-23 22:18:49 UTC
Closing - included in Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.
