Description of problem:

RHEL4.7 Release Note says:

<quote>
e1000e: driver updated to latest upstream version. This update applies several
fixes, including a fix for a bug that prevented the Wakeup-On-Lan (WOL) feature
from working in some cases.

Further, this update also provides support for ICH9m and 82574L Shelter Island
network interface cards.
</quote>

However, Intel 82574L controller on Tyan S5221 board is not recognized by kernel-2.6.9-78.ELsmp.

Additional info:

The latest e1000e drivers from Intel Support site compiles as RPM, installs and creates eth0 device with 2.6.9-78.EL just fine.
