I cannot reproduce, the feature works as advertised here. $ rpm -q kdebase kdebase-4.1.2-5.fc10.x86_64 I upgraded from F8 to F9, now kdebase is kdebase-4.1.2-5.fc9.i386. I have no 64bit hardware, so I cannot switch to your environment. Additionally, I executed Settings > "Save View Profile 'Web Browsing'", but this did not help too. I could solve my problem by removing .kde/. Then re-starting konqueror and setting my homepage again does the desired function. Is this still an issue with 4.1.4? Thank you for the bug report. This issue needs to be addressed by the upstream developers. Please submit a report at http://bugs.kde.org. You are requested to add the bugzilla link here for tracking purposes. Please make sure the bug isn't already in the upstream bug tracker before filing it. Since there are insufficient details provided in this report for us to investigate the issue further, and we have not received feedback to the information we have requested above, we will assume the problem was not reproducible, or has been fixed in one of the updates we have released for the reporter's distribution. Users who have experienced this problem are encouraged to upgrade to the latest update of their distribution, and if this issue turns out to still be reproducible in the latest update, please reopen this bug with additional information.
