This bug appears to have been reported against 'rawhide' during the Fedora 10 development cycle. Changing version to '10'. Description of problem: ======================= xmms lost all menu text after installing extra fonts. Installed: yum install xmms yum install xorg-x11-fonts-75dpi.noarch It probaly has to do with GTK-1.2 and utf8 Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): ============================================================ XMMS 1.2.11 Fedora Rawhead (yum update 22/10 2008) How reproducible: ================= Allways Steps to Reproduce: =================== 1. install xmms and fonts 2. Open menu, Top Left of xmms. 3. All text are boxes instead of letters Actual results: =============== Expected results: ================= Additional info: ================ Can be fixed by either: 1. starting xxms as LANG=en_US xmms Normally LANG is en_US.utf8 2. other font settings in home Create a file .gtkrc-1.2-gnome2 with: style "user-font" { fontset="-bitstream-bitstream vera sans-medium-r-normal-*-12-*-*-*-*-*-iso8859-15" } widget_class "*" style "user-font"
