Description Gordon Messmer 2008-11-16 22:41:26 UTC
Description of problem:
When attempting to use "rpm --setperms", I get an error like:

sh: line 1: syntax error near unexpected token ')'
sh: line 1: `[ -L '/usr/share/X11' ] || chmod t a number) '/usr/share/X11''

It looks like "chmod %7.7{FILEMODES:octal}" in /usr/lib/rpm/rpmpopt-4.6.0-rc1 evaluates to "chmod (not a number)"

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
rpm-4.6.0-0.rc1.7.i386

Comment 1 Panu Matilainen 2008-11-17 08:47:14 UTC
Hum, indeed - this is actually a generic issue with format specifiers on numeric types other than 32bit integers, gone unnoticed as most of the numeric data in rpm is 32 bit integers. Will fix, thanks for reporting.
