Description Radek Bíba 2008-11-18 12:56:51 UTC
Description of problem:
The ethtool package contains file /usr/share/doc/ethtool-5/INSTALL, which describes how to configure, build and install this piece of software. There's no need to package it. Please remove it, it's an easy change in the .spec file:

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
ethtool-5-1.el5

Comment 7 Radek Bíba 2009-01-22 09:48:21 UTC
Thanks for fixing it in Fedora, Robert. The package can go to regular updates, at least the one in F10, which I just tested on an F10 box. The F9 package looks good too when I look into its contents and extract and run the ethtool binary. Unfortunately, I'm getting an HTTP 500 when trying to provide feedback on the fedoraproject site, thus doing so here :)

However, let's keep the status this bug report in NEW until it's being worked on in RHEL.

Comment 8 Robert Scheck 2009-01-22 12:06:56 UTC
Sorry Radek, I tried to told the fscking Bodhi not to touch the bug reports,
but it is doing that anyway, I've updated the Fedora Infrastructure ticket for
this: https://fedorahosted.org/fedora-infrastructure/ticket/312#comment:3
