Please try this test package, just built: http://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/taskinfo?taskID=980974 It contains a small fix that I think might help. Oh, your architecture is i386. These are the packages you need then: http://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/taskinfo?taskID=980978 Bear with me since I've never been involved in this process before. I installed the cups and cups-libs rpms. The media selected by the printer for the envelope is whatever is set on the printer as default. The media selected by the printer for the paper is according to the page size set by the page style, so works correctly. Yes. That's the behaviour I see here as well. The OpenOffice.org output only seems to include a '%%IncludeFeature' line for one of the two input slots I have on a test printer here. So the (CUPS part of the) problem is fixed with those packages? I don't think so. Just tried KWrite to see what happens: From print dialogue, printer properties: -select A4 paper, takes media from tray3 - correct. -select A5 paper, takes media from tray2 - correct, -select envelope but media is paper from default tray, not envelope feeder. How else can I check? Could you attach your PPD please? Created attachment 326208 [details]
The PPD file being used
I think this is what you want.
All seems to be working from the point of view of printing from OpenOffice.org. The output I get after CUPS filters includes all the expected /MediaPosition settings. If selecting a media type from the kwrite printer dialog is not working, that is some other bug (in whichever KDE application is responsible for that). cups-1.3.9-3.fc9 has been submitted as an update for Fedora 9. http://admin.fedoraproject.org/updates/cups-1.3.9-3.fc9 cups-1.3.9-6.fc10 has been submitted as an update for Fedora 10. http://admin.fedoraproject.org/updates/cups-1.3.9-6.fc10 (In reply to comment #8) > All seems to be working from the point of view of printing from OpenOffice.org. > The output I get after CUPS filters includes all the expected /MediaPosition > settings. > > If selecting a media type from the kwrite printer dialog is not working, that > is some other bug (in whichever KDE application is responsible for that). After your request for the ppd file I thought I'd have a look myself. In the InputSlot/Media section there are no lines for the Envelope feeder. If I add to this will cups object? Other than restarting cups are there any other steps? I've downloaded the ppd specs but haven't read them yet. cups-1.3.9-6.fc10 has been pushed to the Fedora 10 testing repository.
