Proposed patch; seems to be working on test case (save/restore w/parallel make in background)
From upstream xen-unstable, cset 18669
Just for the record, my initial analysis was totally incorrect; I was confused by some error messages in xend.log. What's actually going on is much simpler; it's a simple deadlock in the guest kernel, on the suspend_lock. The above mentioned cset fixes it by removing the lock, and in some more rigorous testing, seemed to work very well. Chris Lalancette in kernel-2.6.18-127.el5 You can download this test kernel from http://people.redhat.com/dzickus/el5 An advisory has been issued which should help the problem described in this bug report. This report is therefore being closed with a resolution of ERRATA. For more information on therefore solution and/or where to find the updated files, please follow the link below. You may reopen this bug report if the solution does not work for you. http://rhn.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2009-0225.html |
