The following errors in your anacdump.txt file indicate an error outside anaconda's ability to handle.  This is either bad media, a bad burn/download, or kernel errors.  Did you verify your media prior to installation by running media check?

I think I did check the medium before.  This is not the first time I've used it.
I did not do so this time.  The next attempt in which I simply replaced anything on the disk seems to have worked ok.
