This is a known problem. If you look at http://www.redhat.com/support/docs/gotchas/7.1/gotchas-71.html, I think you'll see a section about this problem. This looks like a kernel problem. Sorry, but I think that if it was kernel problem it should be the same also after the installation of the O.S. in a different unit (SDC in my case), but after the installation the SDD drive is shown correctly by the O.S. The problem is present just under Anaconda during the installation of RH 7.1. However I found a workaround: I installed the O.S. on a temporary root partition on SDC and then I moved that partition to SDD using Partition Magic 6.0 under Windows 2000. I also edited the linux.conf file in order to add the new root partition and now I have the OS installed in the root partition on SDD. Obviously after doing this I deleted the old root partition on SDD. Everything is working fine now. However the BUG under Anaconda still remains. Paolo Basaglia (basaglia) Thanks for the bug report. However, Red Hat no longer maintains this version of the product. Please upgrade to the latest version and open a new bug if the problem persists. The Fedora Legacy project (http://fedoralegacy.org/) maintains some older releases, and if you believe this bug is interesting to them, please report the problem in the bug tracker at: http://bugzilla.fedora.us/ |
