Description Daniel Mach 2009-01-14 10:06:33 UTC
Would it be possible to reduce policycoreutils deps?

This is complete Requires list from latest rawhide rpm:
python(abi) = 2.6
audit-libs-python >= 1.4.2-1
libsemanage-python >= 2.0.28-2
libselinux-utils >= 2.0.46-5
/usr/bin/python
/usr/bin/diff
libsemanage.so.1(LIBSEMANAGE_1.0)
rpm
/sbin/chkconfig
/sbin/service
libselinux-python
/bin/awk
libsemanage.so.1
/bin/sed
checkpolicy

I understand that most of these deps are needed, but is there any chance to get rid at least of python by moving python modules and some scripts to a subpackage?

It would be useful at least for 2 reasons:
 - speed-up koji builds (python is now pulled into each build root)
 - reduce minimal package set (lightweight virtual guests etc...)

Policycoreutils is probably the only package (except yum) in @core group which needs python.
