When querying specfiles, rpm outputs error messages for patches that are specified in the specfile but are not in the sources dir.  For example in rpm/devel Fedora CVS checkout:

$ rpm -q --specfile rpm.spec
error: File /home/scop/rpmbuild/SOURCES/rpm-4.5.90-devel-autodep.patch: No such file or directory
error: File /home/scop/rpmbuild/SOURCES/rpm-4.5.90-pkgconfig-path.patch: No such file or directory
error: File /home/scop/rpmbuild/SOURCES/rpm-4.5.90-gstreamer-provides.patch: No such file or directory
error: File /home/scop/rpmbuild/SOURCES/rpm-4.6.0-fedora-specspo.patch: No such file or directory
error: File /home/scop/rpmbuild/SOURCES/rpm-4.6.0-rc1-defaultdocdir.patch: No such file or directory

I don't think rpm should output these errors when querying specfiles.  Or if it does, it should also output errors for similarly "missing" sources, which it currently doesn't - it does it only for patches.

Yup, there was even a FIXME for this case in the code :)
Fixed upstream now.

rpm-4.6.1-1.fc10 has been submitted as an update for Fedora 10.

rpm-4.6.1-1.fc10 has been pushed to the Fedora 10 testing repository.  If problems still persist, please make note of it in this bug report.
