Description David Nielsen 2009-03-26 11:32:08 UTC
Description of problem:

According to upstream, Novell have blocked the DHT portion of all bittorrent software based on a legal risk. There isn't much additional information but I would love to get Fedora Legal' input on this as it would potentially affect quite a lot of packages in Fedora currently.

Note that for Monotorrent and Monsoon this is not a problem in the upcoming release as the DHT parts have been split out as a module which could be shipped by a 3rd party such as rpmfusion. Other software will need to be modified.

After discussing this with the openSUSE legal folks, I've determined this is not an issue of concern for Fedora. Closing.
