Description Julian Weißgerber 2009-04-19 11:42:28 UTC
Description of problem:
Using the "Fill all space up to (MB)" option in the manual partitioning of the installer creates a partion with the specified size instead of filling all space leaving the specified amount of space free.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
anaconda-11.5.0.42-1 on Fedora-11-Snap1-i686-Live-KDE.iso

How reproducible:
Create a new partition using the "Fill all space up to" option

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Proceed to manual partitioning step of the installation
2. Select "New"
3. Select "Fill all space up to (MB)" and enter the size
4. Confirm and observe the partition list

Actual results:
A partition is created that fills the specified amount of space.

Expected results:
A partition is created that fills all available space except for the specified amount.

Additional info:
I used a blank virtual hd in VirtualBox.

This is working as it should. The size you specify in the box is the maximum size that the partition should have, subject to whatever else is on the disk. It does not mean that making the partition should leave the amount free that you specify.
