Description of problem:

From fedora 10 ( including KDE live Version ) to Fedora 11

Into my Toshiba Satellite A100-170 Ati X1400 using the Fedora radeon
 driver the Font DPI dimension is corrupted into KDE, font is so big that 
the OS is unusable if font is not forced to 96 dpi into KDE, or the driver
 is not recompiled from the original Xorg project.

All version of Fedora from 10 (live or not live) to 11 are affected


How reproducible:

It seem to occur only on very few notebook

For example on Toshiba A100 

has Intel 945PM
X1400 probably MXM

Driver recompilation or force DPI is needed in order to use fedora


Expected results:

Characters DPI should be 96 on default

screenshot problem

screenshot using a photo machine because Fedora is unusable

( All applicaction are affected except some plasma component )

the screenshot is related to F10 + KDE 4.1 but on fedora 11 the effects are the 
same.

Hmm, strange. I see 

(==) RADEON(0): DPI set to (96, 96)

in the log. Throwing bug towards KDE folks for further investigation, but really don't know whose fault it is.

I has seen the line
(==) RADEON(0): DPI set to (96, 96)

but i want to remark that this problem is related ONLY on the fedora radeon
driver ( on every fedora from 10 to 11 including live version of KDE ), this problem disappear recompiling the original radeon from Xorg project

I don' t know if is important but the command had been executed with
KDE DPI forced to 96 DPI.  Disabling the force, is impossible to so anything

Done a lot of time, the problems still appears

Except for the DPI forcing, the problem is independent from the KDE status or configuration. All Fedoras are affected, Fedora 10 KDE Live is affected, Fedora 10 Upgrade from 8 is affected, Fedora 10 fresh install is affected, Fedora 11 upgraded from Fedora 10 is affected.

The problem disappear 

1) When forcing the DPI with the Fedora original ati driver

OR

2) When Recompiling the original Xorg ati driver, in this last
case forcing is not needed

the output of "xdpyinfo | grep resolution" gives 112x968 dots per inch. it's wrong and caused the problem. It's a bug in in ati driver
