Description Paolo Bonzini 2009-06-27 11:45:30 UTC
Created attachment 349654 [details]
lvmdump -a output

Description of problem:
My system uses /boot in /dev/sda1 and has LVM in /dev/sda2. F11 does not allow me to look inside the LVM in /dev/sda2. The volume group simply does not appear in the partition editor.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Install F10 with this layout:
   - /dev/sda1 => /boot
   - /dev/sda2 => LVM volume group
     LV         VG         Attr   LSize
     fc10-x8664 VolGroup00 -wi-ao 25.00G
     home       VolGroup00 -wi-ao 59.38G
     swap       VolGroup00 -wi-a-  2.00G
     (everything else: unused)

2. Start F11 installation
3. Choose manual partitioning.

Actual results:
VolGroup00's logical volumes cannot be seen or modified.

Expected results:
Ability to attach home and swap to the new F11 installation, and to create a new logical volume for F11's root.

Additional info:
As can be clear from the above steps, the LVM is further partitioned into a /home partition, a swap partition, and a root partitions. There is plenty of empty space and I would like to install F11 there, by adding a root partition and sharing the /home and swap partitions. I would install F11's grub over the existing one and tweak grub.conf to dual-boot.
