Description Kenny Graunke 2001-08-07 07:23:20 UTC
From Bugzilla Helper:
User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:0.9.2) Gecko/20010725

Description of problem:
The (plain) sidebar in the redhat theme is quite ugly. The tabs (borrowed
from the Default nautilus theme) do not even blend with this color.

How reproducible:
Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open any folder in nautilus.

Actual Results: The sidebar is plain, tabs don't blend nicely.

Expected Results: The sidebar should be nicer looking, like the Crux-* or
Default themes.

I pretty much agree that it's ugly, as is most of the desktop. We don't have the
design skills to fix it however. We really want something plain/uncluttered and
fast/low-memory, and the desktop setup we have is the best we could come up with
using our meager artistic ability. Using something plain and conservative keeps
us safe from horrible mistakes. ;-)

Will probably get an artist to help us sometime, but not for this release.
