Description Harald Hoyer 2009-07-14 10:14:38 UTC
Please remove /etc/udev/makedev.d/99-fuse.nodes from the rawhide build

/dev/fuse is now created by start_udev

Thanks! This will speedup standard installations.

Comment 1 Peter Lemenkov 2009-08-19 17:56:51 UTC
Are there any documentation exists regarding these changes? Actually, I don't fully understand some things:

* It's only F-12 change, isn't it?
* Was MAKEDEV obsoleted completely?

Comment 2 Peter Lemenkov 2009-08-19 17:59:57 UTC
* How much speedup exactly can be gained, from the proposed change?

Comment 3 Harald Hoyer 2009-08-20 08:38:47 UTC
* It's only F-12 change, isn't it?

yes

* Was MAKEDEV obsoleted completely?

no, but fuse is the only basic package which needs it

* How much speedup exactly can be gained, from the proposed change?

A lot. Especially for slow disks and CPU.. 1 second I would say on most computers.
