Internal data flow error watching tv with Totem

Description of problem:

When a DVB-T tv program playing on Totem transitions to an advert an error dialogue pops up: Internal data flow error. The stream stops playing, the screen goes black. This happens again when the advert stops and the tv program re-starts.

This problem was also present in F10.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):

totem-2.26.3-1.fc11.i586

How reproducible:

Often, but not always. Seems to happen consistently on certain channels, perhaps only certain time of the day. Film 4 on an evening in the UK, for example.

What's the output on the command-line when this happens?

Comment 2 Stephen 2009-07-27 16:53:53 UTC
Here's the error output:

** Message: Error: Internal data flow error.
gstbasesrc.c(2334): gst_base_src_loop (): /GstPlayBin:play/DvbBaseBin:source/GstDvbSrc:dvbsrc13:
streaming task paused, reason not-negotiated (-4)

Comment 3 Bastien Nocera 2009-07-27 17:12:04 UTC
This is a gst-plugins-bad error, which isn't shipped in Fedora proper. I'd advise you to file a bug upstream[1] with the version of Totem in use, and the versions of the gstreamer plugins as well.

Is there a supported way to watch DVB-T in Fedora?

No. You'd need MPEG-2 (or MPEG-4) decoders which we can't ship.
