Same here with nvidia card. I tking this is not a driver issue. Look at this blog: http://blogs.gnome.org/hughsie/ article: gnome-power-manager and blanking (removal of bodges) I've once even seen once some weird icon in my gnome panel referring to this blog. Since this bugzilla report was filed, there have been several major updates in various components of the Xorg system, which may have resolved this issue. Users who have experienced this problem are encouraged to upgrade their system to the latest version of their packages. For packages from updates-testing repository you can use command yum upgrade --enablerepo='*-updates-testing' Alternatively, you can also try to test whether this bug is reproducible with the upcoming Fedora 12 distribution by downloading LiveMedia of F12 Beta available at http://alt.fedoraproject.org/pub/alt/nightly-composes/ . Description of problem: I use Fedora 11 on Lenovo T61 laptop. It happens about 3 times a day that my screen fades into black for a second and after some activity (mouse, kyeboard) fades out back to the normal screen and I can continue with my work. My Xorg log file is attached.
