Description of problem:
boot to start install on ppc platform, the mouse is touch pad, anaconda can not detect it.but it works on i386 or x86_64. keyboard works. touch pad is Thinkpad Ultra Nav sk8845

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):

Comment 1 Chris Lumens 2009-09-28 13:34:46 UTC
anaconda no longer does anything special to setup the display or input hardware under X. We just make use of the defaults.

Comment 2 Matěj Cepl 2009-11-05 17:17:16 UTC
Since this bugzilla report was filed, there have been several major updates in various components of the Xorg system, which may have resolved this issue. Users who have experienced this problem are encouraged to upgrade their system to the latest version of their packages (at least F12Beta, but even better if the very latest versions).

Please, if you experience this problem on the up-to-date system, let us now in the comment for this bug, or whether the upgraded system works for you.

If you won't be able to reply in one month, I will have to close this bug as INSUFFICIENT_DATA. Thank you.

[This is a bulk message for all open Fedora Rawhide Xorg-related bugs. I'm adding myself to the CC list for each bug, so I'll see any comments you make after this and do my best to make sure every issue gets proper attention.]

Comment 3 Bug Zapper 2009-11-16 13:01:18 UTC
This bug appears to have been reported against 'rawhide' during the Fedora 12 development cycle.
Changing version to '12'.

More information and reason for this action is here:

Comment 4 Matěj Cepl 2009-11-17 00:16:27 UTC
Thanks for the bug report. We have reviewed the information you have provided above, and there is some additional information we require that will be helpful in our diagnosis of this issue.

Please attach your X server config file (/etc/X11/xorg.conf, if available), output of the dmesg and lshal commands, and X server log file (/var/log/Xorg.*.log) to the bug report as individual uncompressed file attachments using the bugzilla file attachment link below.

Could we get also output of the command

$ cat /proc/bus/input/devices

We will review this issue again once you've had a chance to attach this information.

Thanks in advance.

Umm, no. This bug isn't "Bug 522091 - Test_Day:2009-09-09_Radeon QA:Testcase radeon fastuserswitch dim on switchback, hang", and my machine does not have a touchpad.

Comment 13 Peter Hutterer 2010-01-13 06:54:48 UTC
judging by the proc output, this device is a tad weird. it doesn't seem to have any buttons (well, unless my proc script just gave up). can you please run evtest against the device (here /dev/input/event3 but that may have changed since) and attach the output here?
