Description Chris Rouch 2001-08-27 17:23:21 UTC
Description of Problem:

If a custom background is selected for gdm via gdmconfig, the Red Hat default background is still displayed. If this is selected via the login gui, then the chosen background is displayed and the RH one immediately redisplayed.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):

gdm-2.2.3.2-1

How Reproducible:

Yes.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. use gdmconfig
2. select the background tab.
3. select image and choose a file
4. select restart after logout
5. logout

Actual Results:

Blue RH login screen

Expected Results:

A different picture

Additional Information:

Upgrading to the lates gdm fixes this. Vanilla gdm-2.2.3.2 under seawolf behaved correctly.

If you delete the "background program" from the Background tab in gdmconfig,
then the redhat thing won't be drawn.
