Description Hans de Goede 2009-10-01 12:20:54 UTC
Fully up2date F-12 on x86_64 with a X1950 pro.

To reproduce:
1) yum install xfig
2) xfig
3) select circle/elipse drawing tool (top left icon)
4) left click somewhere in the canvas
5) X dies on the left click, and restarts showing gdm

Comment 1 Hans de Goede 2009-10-01 12:32:09 UTC
Note the server is already updated to:
xorg-x11-server-Xorg-1.6.99.903-2.fc12.x86_64
From koji, otherwise X would not start at all.

Comment 2 Adam Williamson 2009-11-01 22:45:47 UTC
Can you please get some logs? Run from runlevel 3 so that you go back to a console when X crashes (rather than gdm), and check /var/log/Xorg.0.log and ~/.xsession-errors ...thanks!

Comment 6 Hans de Goede 2009-11-02 09:18:35 UTC
Note this backtrace is with xorg-x11-server-Xorg-1.7.0-5.fc12.x86_64

Comment 7 Hans de Goede 2009-11-02 09:35:27 UTC
Just tried again with xorg-x11-server-Xorg-1.7.1-2.fc12.x86_64, the bug is still
there. Also tried on a system with integrated Intel graphics, although the backtrace points to the Xserver the problem does not happen on the integrated Intel graphics system.

Comment 8 Dave Airlie 2009-11-04 05:01:30 UTC
This is an X server bug in EXA, I'm talking with upstream to see what is required to fix it.

Comment 9 Matěj Cepl 2009-11-05 17:17:20 UTC
Since this bugzilla report was filed, there have been several major updates in various components of the Xorg system, which may have resolved this issue. Users who have experienced this problem are encouraged to upgrade their system to the latest version of their packages (at least F12Beta, but even better if the very latest versions).

Please, if you experience this problem on the up-to-date system, let us now in the comment for this bug, or whether the upgraded system works for you.

If you won't be able to reply in one month, I will have to close this bug as INSUFFICIENT_DATA. Thank you.

[This is a bulk message for all open Fedora Rawhide Xorg-related bugs. I'm adding myself to the CC list for each bug, so I'll see any comments you make after this and do my best to make sure every issue gets proper attention.]

Comment 10 Adam Williamson 2009-11-05 21:43:05 UTC
please ignore comment #9, it was an automated message which makes little sense in this context.

Comment 11 Bug Zapper 2009-11-16 13:09:26 UTC
This bug appears to have been reported against 'rawhide' during the Fedora 12 development cycle.
Changing version to '12'.

Can you please try with X server 1.7.3-3, currently building at http://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/buildinfo?buildID=147423 ? It should address this issue. Thanks!

Comment 16 Hans de Goede 2009-12-17 08:59:21 UTC
I can confirm that X server 1.7.3-3 fixes this, thanks!

Comment 17 Adam Williamson 2009-12-17 11:49:03 UTC
Let's put it in MODIFIED, then. The package (or a later one) will go out as a testing update at some point, but Dave still wants to check on some other bugs and try and get some regression testing on it first.

Comment 18 Jan "Yenya" Kasprzak 2010-01-14 08:55:59 UTC
I have also ran into this bug, but fortunately, yesterday's update to xorg-x11-server-Xorg-1.7.4-1.fc12.x86_64 fixed the problem for me.

Comment 19 Hans de Goede 2010-01-14 09:40:05 UTC
This is fixed by xorg-x11-server-Xorg-1.7.4-1.fc12.x86_64, which is in updates-stable now, closing.
